ABOUT

one day fantasy and reality combined to create the magical world known as “the ether”

composed of two sides of the same coin (sil-a) vocalist, songwriter, & ethercilla (producer, creative director, muse) decided to merge into one creative force.

Born in the USA to immigrant parents, Sil-A began songwriting at the age of 9 as a way to cope with their challenging upbringing. They grew up listening to punk pop in secret, filling notebooks with song lyrics with no training or equipment.

Upon relocating to Seoul, South Korea, they began to experiment with hip-hop and synth, blending the genres to create a unique music staple. Mixing rhyme with electronic beats they create a cross-cultural experience which intertwines both Korean and English lyrics.

sil-a’s diverse cultural background is reflected in their artistry: a determination to defy labels and an aspiration to challenge society's perceptions of "beauty," "music," and "art."
